STRESS

Psalm 94:17-19

17 Unless the LORD had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, LORD, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me,
   your consolation brought me joy.

This is exactly how I feel today.  My foot is slipping, and I'm anxious.

Last night I spoke to Jesus, and I asked for Him to show me which message I'll deliver today, and for some reason Stress stood out.  At first I thought but why Father?  I'm feeling quite fine, I haven't been this relaxed and happy about life in a long time?!  But He already knew how I would feel when I woke up and what would all transpire today.  You see, God knows when the devil wants to interfere and make your life miserable.  The devil cannot accept that we are followers of Jesus!  He will do everything in his power to make us stray from our believes.

In my personal testimony I explained that my life was all about work.  What I didn't mention, was the incredible amount of stress involved.   Every day demanded more and more from me, and eventually, I just collapsed (not literally).  I told myself that I was not good enough, not worthy of my work not worthy of my salary not worthy of my big fat bonus at the end of the year.  In my own eyes I couldn't do anything right.  Does that sound familiar?  Do you feel like that today?  This is not the work of God, He will never let you feel anything but worthy!  Stress is not from Him!

Matthew 11:28-30 gives us the answer:

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

So, if you are burdened, weary and anxious today, take a deep breath, and go to God, He will give you rest.  He is gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.

God Bless!
